If you want to create a Windows Server 2016 virtual machine from VMM 2012 R2 you will see that there is no option to choose Windows Server 2016 as a Guest OS, even though you have installed UR11 for VMM 2012 R2.
For this issue Microsoft released a hotfix for UR11,which consists of two hotfixes, one for console and one for vmm server. Install it and after that you will have the Windows Server 2016 listed as a GuestOS.
