I’ve had this error when we encountered an issue in our infrastructure and several VMs connected to a Distributed Switch reported different problems.
Couple of them were without any network connectivity and when checking VM Settings the Network Adapter was disconnected. Of course, I’ve checked the Connected option and received the error Invalid configuration for device ‘0’.
Solution to this issue is very simple, you just have to change the current distribution port group to a different one, and then move it back to the initial one.
