Last week I was configuring ASR for Hyper-V and after I did the setup I run into some connection issues. I’ve removed the Azure Site Recovery Provider Agent from the Hyper-V host and deleted the configuration settings from the Azure portal.
After that I’ve reconfigured the Azure Site Recovery Vault in Azure and started the installation of the Agent on the Hyper-V host and I’ve received the error: The DRA server is already registered in vault. Either select the registration key associated with this vault, or unregister the server and then register with a different vault.
So, I went back to the portal, delete again the ASR vault, uninstalled the agent from the server, reboot the server and start the configuration again but the error was still there. What you have to do is to follow the next steps:
- Uninstall the existing Azure Site Recovery Provider from your server.
- Open the registry and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT.
- Look for the Azure Site Recovery Key and delete the entire folder.
- Install the Azure Site Recover Provider on your Hyper-V host
This is still happening in 2021. How have M$ not fixed this in the past 6 years?!?
